Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Paralegal to join our personal injury firm. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience specifically as a paralegal for a personal injury law firm. The ideal candidate will be able to assist attorneys in various aspects of legal work, including conducting research, preparing documents, and managing case files. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. A background in law or relevant experience in legal settings is preferred.
Duties
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and PCLaw to support case preparation.
- Assist attorneys in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, demand letter, motions, and contracts.
- Manage case files and maintain organized records for easy access and retrieval.
- Communicate with clients to gather information, schedule appointments, and provide updates on case status.
- Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to collect pertinent information for cases.
- Support attorneys in various areas of law, including immigration law, estate planning, and personal injury law.
- Ensure compliance with legal procedures and deadlines while maintaining confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Paralegal or in a similar role within a law firm or legal department.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis and PCLaw is highly desirable.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills for effective client interaction.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with immigration law, estate planning, or personal injury law is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
