We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Summer Intern to join Vilya’s Medicinal Chemistry team in South San Francisco for 8-12 weeks during the summer of 2025. Reporting to our Senior Scientist - Discovery Chemistry, this full-time onsite position will play a key role in expanding our platform technology and advancing orally available macrocycles into the clinic.

Responsibilities
- Synthesis, purification and characterization of high value building blocks, intermediates, and macrocycles
- Evaluation and implementation of state of the art organic and peptide synthetic methodologies for the design and synthesis of novel chemical structures
- Provide regular progress updates to the chemistry and cross-functional research teams
- Maintain an accurate and detailed electronic lab notebook
- Adherence to all safety and environmental regulations
- Enrollment in an undergraduate degree program. Chemistry majors are strongly preferred.
- Recent graduates with a BS in chemistry are also encouraged to apply.
- Completion of undergraduate organic chemistry laboratory courses
- Experience in an organic chemistry research laboratory is strongly preferred.
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated with strong time management and multitasking skills

- Scientific curiosity with positive attitude and an eagerness to learn
- Wage: $25.00/hr - $35.00/hr based on experience
