What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Content Designer, Product Platform position at Vimeo?
Content designers make Vimeo easier to use by making it easier to understand. In this role, you'll lead content design for our Product Platform area. You'll help drive the vision for its products and features and partner with teammates to conceive, design, and build better experiences.
As a key member of the Product Platform team, you'll work on things like :
Products that make Vimeo even better for large organizationsIdentity, account, data, and security management featuresSubscription, billing, payments, and other transactional flowsNew and improved integrationsDay to day, you'll use language to help customers get things done. You'll design information for the way their brains consume it. You'll organize features for discovery and findability, and you'll create systems for naming, labeling, and relating things. You'll design concepts that meet people's existing mental models. And you'll write interface content that's accessible, inclusive, and aligned with Vimeo standards.
You'll report to the Director of Content Design. Besides using language to solve big UX problems, you'll also promote best practices, foster understanding among your colleagues, and advocate for better content design across Vimeo. You'll share what you know with other content designers and contribute to the growth of our human-centered content design practice.
What you'll do :
Lead content design for your product teams.
Become an expert in their features, functionality, and business objectives - and an authority on their customers and content.Know your customers.
Conduct content discovery, including competitive research, inventories, and audits. Collaborate on card sorts, user interviews, surveys, and workshops.Help define a shared vision.
Work with your product teams to align customer needs with business objectives - and plan new products, features, and enhancements that achieve both.Co-own the design process.
Pair up with product designers from requirements to release, creating and iterating on design concepts, user flows, prototypes, components, and patterns.Write useful, usable, and inclusive interface content.
Craft clear, accessible copy for dialogs, empty states, alerts, tooltips, help text, navigation labels, onboarding, and more.Skills and knowledge you should possess :
4 years in content design or UX writing roles at software as a service (SaaS) product companiesExcellent writing skills, with a strong understanding of English grammar and mechanicsFamiliarity with principles of information architecture, object modeling, and taxonomyExperience complying with and contributing to brand voice and tone standardsDemonstrated commitment to the principles of accessibility and inclusion in your contentAn understanding of how content design drives business growthExperience working in an agile development environmentWorking knowledge of design methods and tools, including FigmaSamples of your work and process, from writing and designing to research and documentationA track record of living our values : be real, aim high, start with customers, ask why, and own itBase Salary Range :
NYC Metro, Bay Area, Seattle, & Los Angeles : $123,000 - $169,500All other US cities outside above metro areas : $110,700 - $152,550
