VINA Mission:
VINA Community Dental Center is a non-profit dental clinic providing low-cost dental care to uninsured adults in Livingston County with limited incomes. VINA also partners with local organizations to provide free dental care for veterans in need through two programs.
Position Summary:
Under the direction of and reporting to the Executive Director, the Community Outreach & Development Coordinator (CODC), will develop and implement strategies for community outreach and fund development for VINA Community Dental Center
Responsibilities
Community Outreach
- Oversee all community outreach aspects of organization, including community events, networking, Chambers of Commerce involvement, etc.
- Design brochures, order printing, and retrieve finished product
- Oversee website design, content, and updates
- Place ads/notifications in online and print papers, radio, social media
- Help create newsletters (print and electronic) with compelling content (i.e. patient stories, staff spotlights, campaign/fundraising goals and progress, quarterly current and last year numbers, etc) to be mailed to donors and emailed to all CC emails
- Take pictures and create videos to promote the clinic and events
- Secure patient stories (compelling stories)
- Maintain e-folder/document with patient stories and post-appointment survey stats
- Put together posters to be used at various events to promote what VINA is all about
- Develop and maintain good relationships with local media outlets.
Fund Development
Attend and oversee Major Fundraising Events & Committee Meetings
- Distribute sponsorship flyers, event flyers, and “save the date” postcards
- Write or oversee letters and emails for: sponsorship/donation requests
- Facilitate meetings, take notes, and send to volunteer committee
- Secure logos and ads from Business Sponsors/Community Partners for brochures/programs and website recognition for each event
- Track all CC, check, cash and in-kind donations and sponsorships, ticket purchases
- Process all CC payments
- Keep running tally on all events (amount collected, amount spent)
Attend and oversee Minor Fundraising Events & Committee Meeting
- Create and assist with marketing and distribution (printing, emailing, social media)
Attend and Oversee Various Community Events
- Ensure that registration, payment, and deposits are made
- Send emails to appropriate individuals to make them aware/remind them of the event
Donor Lists, Database, and States
- Keep donor database up to date with new donors, donations, sponsorships, and event attendees
- Run reports for mailing lists, donor information, and statistics
- Keep updated records of clinic statistics
- Print out labels for mailings (to and from)
- Coordinate social media and other tech work with remote part time employee
Grant Writing
- Work with Executive Director and Board Members to determine needs of clinic
- Write Grant requests to various Foundations including stats, history, needs
- Follow-up with reports to Grant Donors
- Attend required presentations when necessary
- Oversee “Big Check” and Grant Providers Events at Clinic, including promotion and refreshments
- Research additional sources for grants
Miscellaneous
- Create miscellaneous flyers when needed
- Design banners, stickers, etc
- Work with printing house for pricing and timelines
- Develop online crowdfunding campaigns
- Set up community rewards (i.e. Kroger, Amazon Smiles, etc.) and provide information documents and emails
- Establish additional fundraising programs
- Work with other marketing staff members to ensure consistent messaging and collaboration
