Description
Vincennes University has an opening for a HVAC Lead Technician. Operate, maintain and repair all equipment used for heating, ventilation and air
conditioning of college building equipment. This includes operations of a central heating plant
utilizing steam and / or hot water for tempering or heating building, and a central chilled water
plant to provide cooling to all buildings. You will be required to work regular, perodic emergencies and weekend shifts at any campus when needed. Provides excellent customer service to create a
comfortable environment in which to study, teach and learn at all campuses.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Learn locations of all HVAC equipment and how they relate to each building
- Coordinates with assigned supervisor and other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work order efficiently.
- Diagnoses causes of problems and / or failures in heating / air conditioning systems for the purpose of the identifying equipment and / or systems repair and / or replacement needs.
- Installs heating and air conditioning equipment and systems for the purpose of providing enhanced safety regulations.
- Monitors HVAC systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventative maintenance.
- Participates in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars, as assigned for the purpose of conveying and / or gathering information required to perform job functions.
- Performs maintenance on HVAC units for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of HVAC systems.
- Repairs heating and air conditioning systems and / or components (e.g. pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring a comfortable work environment.
- Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Any other duties as assigned.
