Vincennes University has an a position for a Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) Middle School Coordinator is responsible for coordinating JAG services within Region 8. This geographic area includes Brown, Daviess, Greene, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Orange and Owen Counties. This position requires building relationships and coordination between educational institutions, employers, community organizations and participating JAG schools.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures the JAG mission is accomplished by following JAG model standards through site visits, classroom observations and discussions with Specialists, students and school administrators.
- Establish ongoing partnerships and coordination with business, industry, civic organizations, community agencies, and JAG school administration and counselors to foster student learning and community engagement within the JAG schools.
- Assists JAG Specialists with planning and coordinating community service activities and special events for students within each JAG School’s community.
- Build relationships with college counselors to coordinate college fairs, workshops, and campus visits to promote post-secondary education of JAG students.
- Coordinates with Business Services Team at the WorkOne Centers.
- Coordinates efforts with Region 8 Management team to accomplish JAG and Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) Youth performance goals.
- Monitors files for compliance with JAG and WIOA policy and procedure.
- Insures that data collection complies with data element validation requirements.
- Provides feedback thru advising and coaching JAG Specialists.
- Identify training needs, develop training plans and deliver training to JAG Specialists for professional development.
- Maintains knowledge of the duties of the JAG Specialist and be familiar with Workforce Training Coordinator duties.
- Maintains working knowledge of the college admissions process, financial aid resources, scholarships and internship opportunities.
- Serve as contact point for ENDMS training and support.
- Responsible for ensuring reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner to Jag Program Manager. Ensuring all Jag staff perform day-to-day activities in a professional manner.
- Reports directly to Jag Program Manager.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, preferably in the area of education, employment and training programs, human resources, economic development or related fields.
- Individual must be detail orientated and able to compile reports.
- Work is performed independently with minimal supervision. Be familiar with college admissions processes.
- Strong written and public speaking skills are required.
- Position requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel by both public transportation as well as private transportation including self-transportation.
- Ability to transport students may be required. Travel out of area may be required for training purposes.

- Ability to educate a variety of constituencies and interested parties about the program by developing ongoing relationships and making formal presentations.
- Ability to develop curriculum and educational opportunities consistent with the JAG model.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite Software, web-based applications and data management systems.
