The Company:

Project Overview:
The Walsh-VINCI Transit Community Partners (WVTCP) Joint Venture consisting of VINCI Construction Grands Projets and Walsh Construction has been selected to construct the $2.9BN Design Build Red Line Extension (RLE) project – the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA).
The RLE Mainline Design-Build (MDB) Project will extend the CTA's Red Line by 5.6 miles, extending from the existing terminal at 95th/Dan Ryan south to 130th Street and Doty Avenue.
The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will support the development of the Quality Management System and verify its effectiveness to meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectation. WVTCP’s Lead QA Auditor reports directly to the QM and has the responsibility to administer QA activities and conduct systematic internal and external audits to document and improve the project processes throughout the Project Scope.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain all project plans, processes, procedures and records to show achievement of quality objectives and appropriate function of the Quality Management System
- Work closely with the QM to schedule internal/external audits, inspections and testing to confirm conformance with the CQMS
- Coordinate design audits and reviews to validate conformance with the DQMP
- Conduct audits of suppliers and manufacturing plants; onsite auditing to verify materials production QC occurs
- Conduct audits to confirm materials and equipment are fabricated and tested in accordance with the requirements
- Supervise and provide guidance to QA personnel internal and external
- Perform assessments of the materials verification process to verify that only approved materials are incorporated in the Project
- Verify that approved disposition of all Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) are satisfactorily implemented and documented
- Provides monthly reports on the status of all Audits and AFRs.
- Maintain detailed records of audit findings, corrective actions and related action registers.
- Identify and address quality issues before they impact project timelines.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance construction quality.
- Participate in the root cause analysis process for defects and implement corrective actions.
- Provide regular updates on quality performance and improvements.
- Work closely with AQCL to optimize construction processes.
- Provide training as necessary on quality standards, lessons learn and best practices to construction teams.
- Establish preventive measures to avoid recurring quality problems.
Key Skills and Knowledge:
Required:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in construction Quality Control / Quality Assurance.
- Certified as a quality professional, e.g. ASQ certification or and ISO 9001 auditing certs.
- Experience as a Quality Assurance Manager supervising a Quality Assurance Team.
- Must possess ability to write reports and procedure manuals.
- Must possess experience in quality management systems and quality system audits.
- Well organized, flexible, detail oriented and multi-tasked.
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Visio.
- Proficiency in quality management through Doc. Control Systems.
- Fluent in English with professional proficiency.
- Valid Driver's License.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management preferred.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the construction industry, experience relevant transportation projects would be an asset.
- American Society for Quality (ASQ) certified is preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO guidelines is preferred.
- Experience working on Joint Venture (JV) construction projects.
- Ability to work in multicultural environment.
Salary Range:
- $110,000 - $150,000

- Includes tasks such as maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, ensuring equipment operates efficiently, and adhering to safety protocols in construction sites
- Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, and reflective vests when on-site

- Walking and standing while in-office or on-site
- Occasional climbing on and off equipment and bending
