We are actively seeking a passionate Floor Manager for our LB Steak Bishop restaurant in San Jose, California. In this key role, you'll lead by example, setting the standard for service, fostering teamwork, and creating an inviting atmosphere that delights guests and keeps them coming back. Hourly Rate: $30/hr

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate embodies the values and atmosphere of an upscale restaurant, blending sophistication with a relaxed, welcoming vibe. San Jose diners expect exceptional quality and service, and we’re looking for a Floor Manager who can consistently deliver on those expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional hospitality and seamless service.

  • Oversee daily floor operations, ensuring smooth coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.

  • Foster a positive, team-oriented culture that promotes engagement and collaboration.

  • Monitor the dining floor, proactively addressing guest needs and resolving issues.

  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new employees.

  • Handle staffing challenges, operational issues, and service adjustments in real time.

  • Create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere that encourages guest loyalty and repeat visits.

Required Experience & Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience in a restaurant leadership role, preferably in fine dining.

  • Strong knowledge of upscale dining service standards, wine pairing, and menu presentation.

  • Experience managing guest reservations and familiarity with platforms like OpenTable.

  • Experience with POS systems, scheduling, and inventory management is a plus.

  • A natural leader with strong communication and problem-solving skills, able to handle feedback professionally.

  • Polished appearance and adherence to business casual attire.

  • Ability to stay calm and effective under pressure, particularly during peak service times.

Leadership & People Skills

  • Lead by example, setting the tone for professionalism, hospitality, and teamwork.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate service expectations, menu updates, and daily priorities to maintain high standards
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that prioritizes both guest and team satisfaction

Operational Expertise

  • Work closely with the Front of House manager to achieve operational goals and maintain the restaurant's overall success.
  • Work closely with senior management to implement process improvements and enhance service flow
  • Assist in managing scheduling, inventory, and staff development plans.
  • Address and resolve any guest concerns to ensure every visit exceeds expectations.
