Job Description:
The Venue Manager of Vinegar Hill Music Theatre will be responsible for the success of the bar business and the on-site experience of guests, event staff, artists, and vendors. The ideal candidate has bar management experience including creation of a beverage menu, experience managing weddings and/or private events, and exhibits excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Vinegar Hill's season runs from April-December.
Responsibilities (included but not limited to the below):
- Acts as the responsible point person for VHMT during all concerts and events: interfaces with artists & artist production crew, sound engineers, wedding/event planners, caterers, food trucks, bartenders and bar backs, and guests
- Responsible for all artist hospitality needs
- Creates and manages VHMT’s beverage menu, including specialty cocktails and well-strategized beer and wine lists
- Hires, trains, schedules, and supervises in-house staff such as bartenders, ushers, and security
- Develops crowd management and event staffing plans and supervises event staff during events
- Accurately tracks and reports staff hours to payroll administrator
- Updates and maintains POS system (Square)
- Responsible for tracking nightly and weekly bar inventory, including periodic inventory reporting
- Orders all bar items: beer, wine, liquor, glassware, beverage napkins, etc.
- Ensures that the space is clean and presentable prior to all performances and events
Required:
- Previous bar / event / production management experience
- Ability to deliver consistent quality in event planning and execution
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Team player who understands effective communication
- Ability to work nights and weekends
Desired/Preferred:
- Hospitality and/or catering background a plus
- ServSafe certified
- Desire to grow with VHMT
