Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to lead our automotive service department. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of automotive service operations, including oil changes, tire services, and the maintenance of shocks and struts. As a Service Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service while overseeing a team of service technicians and managing daily operations within the dealership.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the service department to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Manage and mentor a team of service technicians, providing guidance on best practices in automotive service.
- Handle service writing tasks, including creating detailed work orders and communicating with customers regarding their vehicle needs.
- Ensure all services performed meet dealership standards, including oil changes, tire services, alignments, and shock/strut replacements.
- Monitor cash handling processes to maintain accuracy in transactions.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance customer satisfaction and streamline operations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automotive technology and industry trends to provide informed recommendations to customers.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to service delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an automotive service environment, preferably within a dealership setting.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems and repair processes, including oil change procedures, tire services, shocks/struts maintenance, and alignment techniques.
- Experience with service writing and managing service technicians is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly to customers.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also demonstrating leadership capabilities.
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures is preferred.
