Position Summary
The Director of Education oversees the business operations of the Vineyard Community Center’s (VCC) Education Programs and Services, including the Early Childhood Center, After-School Program, Summer Program, and Adult Day Services Program. This role is responsible for enrollment management, regulatory compliance, budgeting, staff supervision, and fostering strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Administrator on the ODJFS license, ensuring compliance with all licensing and Step Up to Quality standards
- Oversee enrollment processes and staffing to align with organizational goals and compliance requirements
- Manage funding reports, licensure compliance, and community partnerships while maintaining accurate documentation
- Provide leadership and supervision to administrative staff and program managers, including the Café Manager, Youth Education Program Manager, and Adult Day Services Program Manager
- Ensure professional development for self and staff in key areas such as ODJFS, CACFP/SFSP, SEL, ServSafe, CPR/First Aid, and OCCRRA.
- Recruit, hire, and onboard qualified team members to support program needs
- Oversee and manage education program budgets, ensuring fiscal health and compliance with financial cycles
- Cultivate a strong sense of community and engagement among program participants and families
- Strengthen community partnerships with schools and organizations, collaborating on school planning and participation in events
What you bring:
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Education Administration, Human Services, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Eligible to serve as an Administrator under Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) licensing requirements
- CPR, First Aid, and other relevant safety certifications (or willingness to obtain)
Experience & Skills
- 3–5 years of leadership or management experience in education or a related field
- Strong knowledge of ODJFS licensing requirements and compliance management
- Proven experience in enrollment management, budgeting, hiring, and staff development
- Ability to plan and lead professional development initiatives for staff
- Knowledge of early childhood education best practices (preferred)
- Strong budget management skills, with the ability to forecast and allocate resources effectively
- Excellent leadership, team management, and policy enforcement skills
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills with staff, families, and external partners
- Proficiency in technology and administrative tools for reporting and communication
