What you will do:
Environment/Classroom
- Safely manage and maintain a classroom of students while implementing the provided curriculum and activities that align with program goals
- Lead youth using clear, consistent, developmentally appropriate expectations for behavior
- Assist with greater Youth Education Department; substitute in and assist with classrooms in K-12, and Vineyard Early Childhood Center as needed
Planning/Procedures
- Ensure compliance with Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) and Step Up to Quality (SUTQ)
- Collect, record, and maintain necessary documentation for student records
- Administer assessments assigned by Program Manager
- Maintain a reliable, punctual schedule
Professional Development
- Meet the demands of required professional development and training (including CPR, First Aid)
- Engage with Program Manager to set and write Professional Development Plan to ensure success in the program
Communication/Virtual Programming
- Maintain communication with families
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings
What you will have:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Degree in child development, elementary education or related field preferred
- Experience in child development, elementary education or related field
- Teaching and public speaking skills
- Intermediate knowledge of office technology tools including web-based applications, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Publisher
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to relate to diverse groups of people from all social and economic backgrounds
- Ability to work program’s schedule
Must be available for the duration of the program from May 22 - July 25th
