We are seeking a motivated and experienced candidate to join our Public Works Department as the Water Crew Lead, which we call an Environmental Utilities Crew Lead. In this leadership role, you will play a key part in maintaining and improving Vineyard City's water and wastewater infrastructure by overseeing a dedicated team. You'll ensure the safe and efficient installation, repair, and maintenance of the city's utility systems.

Principal Duties:

• Lead and supervise utility technicians, ensuring safe and efficient water distribution.

• Coordinate daily tasks, oversee work quality, and manage project schedules.

• Make critical field decisions to promptly address issues and emergencies.

• Maintain accurate work order records, prepare reports, and assist in updating system maps.

• Operate equipment and tools safely and efficiently.

• Conduct training sessions to improve team skills and efficiency.

• Promote a culture of safety and excellence within utility operations.

• Perform snow removal and other assigned duties as needed.

Ideal Candidate:

• Extensive knowledge of water distribution principles, practices, and regulations.

• Utah Water Distribution Certification Grade IV, with ability to obtain additional Wastewater Collection Certifications preferred.

• Prefer 5 years' experience in water utility maintenance.

• Proven leadership skills with experience motivating teams, managing resources, and decision-making.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in water maintenance and repairs.

• Strong technical expertise with a commitment to workplace safety.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Valid Utah Commercial Driver's License with Tanker Endorsement, or ability to obtain within 6 months.

• Confined Space Entry certification preferred.

• Backflow/Cross Connection Control Program Administrator certification a plus.

• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and respond to after-hours emergencies.
