We are seeking a motivated and experienced candidate to join our Public Works Department as the Water Crew Lead, which we call an Environmental Utilities Crew Lead. In this leadership role, you will play a key part in maintaining and improving Vineyard City's water and wastewater infrastructure by overseeing a dedicated team. You'll ensure the safe and efficient installation, repair, and maintenance of the city's utility systems.
Principal Duties:

Lead and supervise utility technicians, ensuring safe and efficient water distribution.

Coordinate daily tasks, oversee work quality, and manage project schedules.

Make critical field decisions to promptly address issues and emergencies.

Maintain accurate work order records, prepare reports, and assist in updating system maps.

Operate equipment and tools safely and efficiently.

Conduct training sessions to improve team skills and efficiency.

Promote a culture of safety and excellence within utility operations.

Perform snow removal and other assigned duties as needed.
Ideal Candidate:

Extensive knowledge of water distribution principles, practices, and regulations.
- Utah Water Distribution Certification Grade IV, with ability to obtain additional Wastewater Collection Certifications preferred.
- Prefer 5 years' experience in water utility maintenance.

Proven leadership skills with experience motivating teams, managing resources, and decision-making.

Demonstrated hands-on experience in water maintenance and repairs.

Strong technical expertise with a commitment to workplace safety.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Valid Utah Commercial Driver's License with Tanker Endorsement, or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Confined Space Entry certification preferred.

Backflow/Cross Connection Control Program Administrator certification a plus.

Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and respond to after-hours emergencies.
Pre-employment drug testing and background check are required.
Salary : $27 - $33
