We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during various procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Utilize 3D scanners for accurate imaging and treatment planning.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical coding and HIPAA compliance.
- Support pediatric patients by creating a welcoming environment tailored to their needs.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient operations within the practice.
- Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance productivity during procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience in dental assisting or orthodontics is preferred.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus.
- Proficiency in using 3D scanners and other dental technology is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical coding practices related to dental procedures is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially children.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant qualifications is preferred but not mandatory.
