Overview:
The Senior Planner is responsible for developing and driving vineyard vines revenue targets and merchandise financial plans to maximize sales and profitability. This role will manage an open-to-buy for both our retail stores & ecommerse. This role will collaborate closely with many cross-functional teams, merchants, finance and production teams on pre-season and in-season business planning. The ability to analyze the business from both a macro perspective as well as style/color/size level is critical.
This position contributes to the overall success of Vineyard Vines. We are looking to hire a well-organized, talented and enthusiastic candidate to join our team. This candidate should be proactive in their approach, look for opportunities to improve upon existing structures and find creative ways to utilize best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently develop, execute, and communicate financial merchandise plans (Open to Buy) and strategies to support company merchandising, marketing, and financial objectives.
- Communicate financial results, forecasts, and action plans to management and cross-functional team on a weekly basis
- Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities by department and category
- Provide hindsight analysis and partner with merchandising on future product positioning and opportunities
- Present financial forecast and supporting action plans in monthly open to buy meetings
- Partner with omni teams to move residual inventory
- Manage basic inventory levels and forecast replenishment buys to support sales forecast
- Create pre-season plans at department level including all financial components
- Create unit buys at the sku level and manage product selling life
- Create long term forecasts by class to inform factory capacity planning
- Propose and execute markdowns based on MFO assortment life cycle
- Demonstrates the ability to carefully listen to others at all levels in the organization
- Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Understands and adheres to all policies related to the organization
- Take on ad-hoc projects as needed
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Prior experience managing Open to Buy and speaking in monthly forecasts to senior management and cross-functional partners
- 5 years of dedicated planning experience, and managing an OTB
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel- Pivot tables, ylookups, index match, etc.
- Possess a clear understanding of financial measurements: sales, gross margin, weeks of supply, inventory turn, sell thru, etc. and how to impact them
- Knowledge and experience with analyzing large data sets
- Ability to negotiate with and influence peers, members of a cross-functional team, and management
- Strong interpersonal communication
- Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities
