After School Teacher - **Dance Instructor Needed

**Schedule:** Tuesdays, 1-hour class (from April 15th, 2025 - May 13th, 2025)

[hours VARY, after-school hours are typically between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM]

**Compensation:** Instructors are paid $60 PER CLASS. Class instruction includes arriving 15 minutes before class to set up, teaching your 1-hour class, and assisting with parent pick-up for about 10-15 minutes after class.

**Position Overview:**

VAC Enrichment is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated After School Teachers to join our team. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about working with children and making a positive impact on their educational and social development. The ideal candidate will create a safe, fun, and engaging environment where students can continue learning and growing outside of regular school hours.

[Interviews will be conducted remotely; classes are IN-PERSON]

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Supervise and engage with students during after-school activities.

- Maintain a positive, supportive, and inclusive atmosphere.

- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.

- Manage classroom behavior and resolve conflicts in a positive and constructive manner.

- Care, safekeeping, and upkeep of assigned materials.

- Assist in preparing materials and setting up activities.

- Serves as a representative of VAC Enrichment and maintains a positive and professional manner.

- Completes all training and paperwork as required by VAC Enrichment.

- Understands the curriculum and concepts thoroughly to be able to provide value to participants with diverse abilities and interests.

- Communicates with parents and clients in a knowledgeable, respectful and tactful manner to address questions or concerns.

- Adheres to all VAC Enrichment and school safety procedures and procedures for supervision and release of children.

**Qualifications/Requirements:**

- Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to manage a group of students with varying needs and abilities.

- Creative, energetic, and patient.

- Must pass all background checks.

- Must have U.S. work authorization

- Must have all vaccines required to work in U.S. schools (including COVID-19 vaccine)

- Reliable transportation is a must; secure location to store teaching materials.

- Lift up to 10 lbs to transport materials; this position may require bending, stooping and lots of walking during class instruction.

**Preferable Qualifications/Requirements:**

- Optional: Degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field.

- If interested in teaching PK or Kindergarten, a minimum of 1 year of experience with that age group.

- Lives no more than 30 minutes from school/area of placement.

- CPR/First Aid certification.

- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
