Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced SAP SOM (Sales Order Management) / CI (Convergent Invoicing) Consultant with strong project management or project lead experience. The ideal candidate will not only possess deep expertise in SAP SOM and CI modules but also have a proven track record of managing and leading SAP projects. In this role, you will take ownership of the end-to-end implementation and optimization of SAP SOM/CI solutions, while also overseeing project timelines, resources, and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities:
SAP SOM/CI Expertise: Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP SOM/CI solutions, ensuring they meet business needs and align with technical requirements.
Project Management: Manage full lifecycle SAP SOM/CI projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure, while ensuring they stay on track in terms of scope, timeline, and budget.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams. Communicate project progress, risks, and milestones clearly to ensure alignment.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of functional consultants, ensuring effective collaboration and smooth project delivery. Guide team members through technical challenges and problem-solving.
End-to-End Order-to-Cash Process: Oversee the integration of SAP SOM with other SAP modules (SD, MM, FICO) and ensure the order-to-cash process is optimized, including billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition.
Risk Management: Proactively identify project risks, suggest mitigation strategies, and ensure successful resolution of issues in a timely manner.
Change Management & Training: Facilitate training for end-users, ensuring a smooth transition and adoption of the new system. Support change management efforts to ensure seamless system updates.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Oversee and participate in testing efforts (unit testing, integration testing, UAT) to ensure successful deployment and adoption.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, functional specifications, configuration guides, and post-implementation support procedures.
Continuous Improvement: Provide recommendations for enhancements to existing SAP SOM/CI solutions based on industry trends, best practices, and business feedback.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Extensive hands-on experience with SAP SOM (Sales Order Management) and SAP CI (Convergent Invoicing) modules, including configuration and implementation.
Proven experience in leading SAP projects from inception to delivery, particularly in the SOM/CI space.
Strong understanding of order-to-cash (OTC) processes, billing, invoicing, and revenue management within SAP.
Solid project management skills, with experience managing project timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication.
Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and coordinate across multiple business units.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, particularly in complex business and technical environments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with SAP S/4HANA, or at least familiarity with it, is a plus.
Knowledge of SAP integration with other enterprise systems, including SD, MM, and FICO modules.
SAP certification in SOM/CI or related modules is preferred.
Experience in global SAP rollouts or multi-country implementations is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
Experience in leading project teams through Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
Knowledge of industry-specific SAP solutions or experience with SAP C4C (Cloud for Customer) or SAP Billing.
Education:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in SAP SOM/CI implementation and configuration.
Minimum of 4-5 years of project management or project lead experience in SAP implementations
