Cellar Worker Job Description
Vinify Wine Services is seeking several cellar workers for the upcoming harvest season. Our custom crush winery specializes in small lot, premium winemaking.
We work with clients who grow and source grapes from top vineyards in Sonoma and Napa Valley. We're responsible for turning these amazing grapes into exceptional wines.
About Us
We make wine in small lots with great attention to detail. This position is hands-on and physically demanding.
You'll have the opportunity to work with various grape varieties and collaborate with different winemakers and their styles all within a single harvest.
Our harvest lasts longer than some neighboring wineries that specialize in one or two varieties of grapes.
You'll be able to experience more over the course of a single harvest season and grow your network of colleagues and friends in the industry.
Job Requirements
- Cleaning and sanitation duties
- Punch downs and pump overs
- Crush equipment operation
- Fermentation monitoring and management
- Forklift operation
- Press operation
- Barrel work and wine transfers
You must be able to follow written and verbal instructions, handle repetitive tasks, be proactive, and excel in a fast-paced work environment.
We hire both experienced and inexperienced individuals to fill various roles in the winery.
This is hands-on physical work requiring long hours on your feet, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Detailed Information
The positions will start in early August and last until mid-November. However, we can discuss alternative start or end dates if needed.
The pay is hourly and competitive, with overtime expected.
