Job Title: Future Support Position
Reports To: Supervisor

Summary:
The Future Support Position plays a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional success of students in Vinita Public Schools. This position focuses on proactive interventions and early identification of potential barriers to student success. The position will collaborate with teachers, counselors, administrators, and families to create supportive learning environments and foster student well-being.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Student Support:
- Proactively identify students who may benefit from additional support or intervention.
- Conduct needs assessments and develop individualized support plans.
- Provide academic support, such as tutoring, mentoring, and study skills instruction.
- Assist students with social-emotional learning, including conflict resolution, anger management, and stress management.
- Provide support to students with attendance issues.
- Assist students with college and career exploration and planning.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Participate in student support teams.
- Maintain accurate student records and data.
- Communicate effectively with supervisor, students, families, and school staff.
- Program Development and Implementation:
- Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives to support student success.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Stay current on best practices in student support.
- Other Duties as Assigned:
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field.
- Experience working with PK-12 students preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using technology for data entry, communication, and student support.
- Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate, appropriate licensure preferred, or willingness to be trained in short order.
