Summary : The primary duties of the Staff Accountant are to maintain financial records, process transactions, and prepare reports. This role requires a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Prepare and enter applicable journal entries to maintain the general ledger
- Organize financial data into useable information
- File Sales taxes
- Maintain and update accounting records and files
- Conduct regular ledger and bank reconciliations
- Analyze and reconcile bank statements and general ledgers
- Handle the processing and maintenance of the company's general ledger
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports
- Support budgeting and bookkeeping procedures
- Performs other duties as necessary to support the accounting department.

Education and Experience :
Language Skills : Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, short to long correspondence, and memos. Ability to write complex correspondence. The ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group presentations to customers, clients, and other employees of the company. Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations. Listens and gets clarification. Listen to others without interrupting.
Computer Skills : To perform this job successfully, must have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of accounting modular based programs. Extensive knowledge of third-party credit card programs. AccountMate a plus.
