The Impact you will have in this role:

The Strategic Management & Governance family is responsible for serving as a dedicated technology resource for advancing the firm's business opportunities and providing industry thought leadership for leveraging new technologies. The modernization program is underway targeting the most critical business systems across the firm; to support these efforts, IT Product Modernization is seeking to expand our team of business systems analysts to surface current state of our equities Clearance & Settlement applications, partner with product management to challenge this, and document resulting business-centric and future-proof target state requirements that are fed to delivery teams for execution.

The Business Systems Analyst role specializes in identifying, documenting and analyzing business requirements, collaborating with Senior analysts in extracting business rules for systems for which documentation currently does not exist, by running positive and negative tests for identified use cases, verifying outcomes in databases and output interfaces.

Your Primary Responsibilities

• Research to establish current state of a given system or business process.
• Run tests in QA to verify or extract rules.
• Contribute to the creation of functional specifications by analyzing business requirements, constructing workflow charts and diagrams.
• Collaborate with project team, product management, and stakeholders on assigned aspects of the project.
• Maintain and contribute to system documentation under company-specific best practices and standards.
• Understand and apply industry-specific best practices & standards.
• Establish level of expertise in the business areas, systems and platforms being supported by the team in the IT Product Modernization journey.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of related experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.

• Experience testing in QA for input via web application or command line.
• Experience in writing SQL queries – comfortable with unions, inner and outer joins.
• Basic excel manipulations, pivot, lookup, if/elseif, substring manipulations, etc.
• Work with multiple Collaborators to assemble functional requirements.
