We are looking for a skilled COBOL Programmer to join our team in a remote capacity. This role requires a detailoriented individual who can collaborate with team members virtually while supporting critical systems that have a direct impact on business operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Write test and maintain COBOL code for legacy systems.
- Collaborate with business analysts and other IT professionals to gather requirements and develop system enhancements.
- Ensure that COBOL applications are performing efficiently and troubleshoot any issues as they arise.
- Perform system migrations upgrades and conversions to ensure compatibility with modern technologies.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing applications including resolving bugs and optimizing code.
- Document COBOL programs processes and procedures to ensure clear understanding and compliance.
- Work closely with database administrators system architects and technical teams to integrate COBOL systems with other technologies.
- Participate in the planning and execution of system enhancements ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
- Adhere to coding standards security protocols and best practices.
