SAFe Kanban Team Coach

Randstad is seeking a SAFe Kanban Team Coach to support one of our key enterprise clients in their lean-agile transformation journey. This role is ideal for a servant leader passionate about driving continuous improvement, fostering flow, and coaching agile teams within a SAFe 6.0 Agile Release Train (ART). The SAFe Kanban Coach will mentor teams transitioning to Kanban, champion agile values and principles, and guide effective adoption of SAFe practices across the organization. The position is primarily remote, with occasional travel to the DC area for quarterly PI Planning events.

Key Responsibilities

• Coach teams on Kanban principles, metrics, and practices to improve flow efficiency and team maturity.
• Facilitate team-level Kanban events such as stand-ups, backlog refinement, queue replenishment, and retrospectives.
• Serve as a servant leader, supporting the team's emotional intelligence, collaboration, and self-organization.
• Promote continuous improvement by identifying bottlenecks, coaching on metrics (cycle time, lead time, throughput, CFD), and encouraging data-informed decisions.
• Foster alignment between team-level practices and program-level SAFe objectives.
• Facilitate coordination of ART events and support the team's participation in PI Planning and Inspect & Adapt workshops.
• Collaborate with Release Train Engineers (RTEs), Product Owners, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to establish effective flow policies, WIP limits, and Kanban board practices.
• Guide teams in identifying and resolving blockers, risks, and dependencies.
• Mentor teams transitioning from Scrum to Kanban, supporting a culture of continuous learning and relentless improvement.
• Champion lean-agile values, SAFe 6.0 practices, and team empowerment throughout the ART.
