The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities or special needs. Duties

The Creekside Residential Care (CRC) Team, through quality and innovation, builds communities where people with disabilities achieve their goals.

At CRC, the Direct Support Professional (DSP) takes responsibility for and ensures the overall quality of care for all individuals in the program by assisting individuals to increase their independence.

In addition to following the DSP primary job duties and mastering the skills of a direct support professional, the DSP will perform the following priority daily duties:

· Take responsibility for and effectively communicate with all DSPs with assignments; ensure therapeutic milieu is maintained; transport individuals to necessary appointments; engage in and ensure therapeutic communications is maintained among staff and individual interactions.

· Moreover, they shall ensure that the Daily Program and Tash Schedule is followed precisely; medications are given timely and properly documented; all meals are prepared timely and documented properly; treatments are proved timely and documented properly; vehicle safety logs are properly maintained; food supplies monthly menus, fire extinguisher records are properly maintained; staff sign in is monitored, tallied weekly and faxed to HR or designated person.

  • Monitors performance of all DSP in our CRC Group Home and provide feedback to supervisor as needed.
  • Ensure all required reports/documents are completed on time and complete documentation audits to ensure compliance in the areas of Environmental Record to be updated monthly; Everyday Book and all related content to be updated daily; Appointment Log & Calendar to be reviewed daily and updated as needed. Ensure that communication logs are maintained daily and each staff progress note has been completed prior to leaving.
  • Collaborate on the Staff Evaluations as assigned by Directors and recommend or participate in the positive direction process.
  • In-services, trains and evaluates DSPs as required by management team and/or HR.
  • Manage household and resident funds by accurately recording and tracking expenditures.
  • Ensure all persons served health needs are met, including but not limited to doctor/dental visits and assist with emergency situations as needed.
  • Follows all CRC policies and procedures and completes other projects/duties as assigned.
  • Serve as an advocate for the individuals and a liaison between the DSPs and management team.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in home community care or caregiving is preferred.
  • Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to follow care plans effectively.
  • Basic cooking skills for meal preparation are essential.
  • Certification in CPR is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate demeanor are required for effective interaction with clients and their families.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and responsibility in all tasks performed.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.50 per hour
