The Director of Human Resources (DOHR) is an integral part of the Resort Executive Leadership Team. This position is fully responsible and will oversee all Human Resources operations with a direct focus on developing, administering and implementing policies relating to all phases of human resources activity. The DOHR is responsible for engaging and developing a dedicated team of hospitality professionals and operational HR functions.

Compensation Range: Starting annual salary range is $100,000 with annual discretionary bonus potential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops and administers company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal and state legal requirements.
  • Promotes positive employee relations through design, communication, and interpretation of human resources policies and programs.
  • Manages recruitment and retention strategies and succession planning process.
  • Manages onboarding strategy, and quarterly new hire orientation.
  • Manages Employee of the Month and Manager of the Quarter Recognition program.
  • Manages and coordinates employee engagement communication, activities and events.
  • Manages and coordinates safety initiatives, workplace violence prevention, and injury and illness prevention program compliance.
  • Manages and administers worker related injuries, claims and return to work.
  • Manages and administers leaves of absence and return to work programs
  • Payroll management and administration.
  • Manages exit interview process and communication of findings to management.
  • Analyzes data, prepares reports, and makes recommendations on a variety of human resources issues.
  • Manages training programs, personal and career development, introductory and annual performance appraisal process, compensation systems, diversity and benefit programs.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Manages employee-relations activities and programs including but not limited to employee counseling, interpretation of policies, new employee orientation, and employee recognition programs.
  • Reviews employee relations concerns and recommends appropriate responses to management.
  • Prepares and monitors human resources budget.
  • Negotiates contracts with outside staffing vendors to provide employee services.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops human resources staff; manages schedules and workflow.
  • Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
  • Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
  • Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent, four or more years HR leadership experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish and English is required.
  • Experience in recruiting and staffing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
  • Proficient in Payroll processing, experience with Ceridian Dayforce preferred.
  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee must lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is not exposed to any conditions which are notable, and office environment is relatively quiet.

Schedule: Position will work onsite. The company does not have an approved hybrid or remote work policy.
