Description
Line Cooks are in charge of prepping food and plating dishes according to the Barnyard’s menu specifications. Duties include preparing food and maintaining sanitation standards. The Line Cook’s principal goal is to prepare high quality meals that meet the Chef’s exact specifications.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Ensure that the station and the kitchen is set up and stocked
- Prepare components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat and preparing sauces.
- Report to the Executive Chef and follow instructions
- Clean prep areas and be responsible for kitchen cleanliness before, during and after shift
- Take care of leftovers in a manner compliant with all food regulations
- Stock inventories and supplies
- Cook menu items with support of the kitchen staff
- Contribute to restaurant performance through positive attitude and team cooperation
- Ensure 100% compliance with all Company policies and laws, including health and safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management staff.
Qualifications
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification
- Certificate in culinary arts or related field
- Minimum of 4 years experience in a similar role
- In depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent organization, communication and critical thinking skills
- Aptitude for multi – tasking
- Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently as a member of a team
- Physical demands of the job include but are not limited to:
- Standing and walking during an up to an entire 8-hour shift
- Reaches, bends, stoops, lifts, shakes, stirs, pours, and carries supplies
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds in weight on a semi regular basis
