The Majestic Inn & Spa is looking for a talented baker with experience producing laminated pastries such as croissants, danishes and kouign-amanns. Additional experience baking muffins, scones, desserts and sourdough is highly desired. In addition to the baking needs of our restaurant and culinary events, this position will be essential to our new 3rd-wave coffee shop opening in February.
The Baker will be responsible for baking & finishing all pastries for the cafe each morning, followed by completing all daily prep as needed. This includes: mixing and shaping doughs (brioche, croissant, cookies, cakes, etc), making fillings (custards, jams, ganache, etc), laminating dough, shaping croissants, danishes and kouign-amanns. Bakers must be able to manage time effectively, maintain food safety standards, and work well with others. Baking will also be needed for restaurant desserts and hotel events throughout a given week.

Requirements & Responsibilities:
- Previous employment as a baker and/or degree in baking and pastry arts
- Mix, laminate, sheet, and shape croissants, danishes and kouign-amanns
- Mix, sheet, and shape puff pastry
- Baking rustic sourdough
- Producing cakes, pies, cookies and other desserts from scratch
- Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen
- Contributing to a positive team environment
- Must have a desire to learn and be receptive to feedback
- Must be flexible to work weekends and holidays
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Production shifts begin as early as 4:30AM. Weekend availability and flexibility around holidays is required. This is a full-time position (8hr shifts).
