What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Manager position at VIP HR?
We seek a Tax Manager to develop and implement tax strategies and solutions for tax issues for our client, a Florida-based Nationwide Mortgage Lender that has been providing successful residential and commercial loans for over 20 years. With a team of 200 employees across the United States, they represent our A service in 40 states.
YOU'RE GOING TO
▪ Accurately prepare and file state and federal tax documents
▪ Determine areas of exposure and adapt to challenges in the compliance process, keeping abreast of new developments in tax regulations
▪ Research complicated tax law and accounting principles and draft/review technical memos and
policies
▪ Coordinate with the auditor’s tax team and challenge the auditor’s position where appropriate
▪ Work with the accounting team on financial statement tax disclosures, including tax reconciliation
and deferred tax detail
▪ Prepare estimated tax payment requirements
▪ Support the CFO with necessary tax research to understand existing and potential tax positions and their impact on the effective tax rate
▪ Consult with business units as tax issues arise
▪ Support expansion of the company’s activities in other financial service industries
IT'S IMPORTANT TO US THAT YOU HAVE
● Skilled in ASC740 tax provision
● Proficient in corporate and individual taxation
● Experience with federal and state tax returns
● Experience in the mortgage industry
● Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
● Good interpersonal skills, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized
● Good research, quantitative, and analytical skills
● Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment
● A minimum of two years experience in a tax manager role is preferred
● Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA preferred
