Safety Manager
Transportation company looking for a Safety Manager to become part of our growing Team.
This position leads the Safety, Training, Compliance and Recruiting programs for our Ira Township office
· Manage all onboarding/orientation, training and safety initiatives
· Manage accurate and prompt recordkeeping, organization & auditing of driver compliance and records
· Resolve driver compliance issues, both under DOT/FMCSA and company requirements
· Manage DOT random drug and alcohol program and ensure the program is in full compliance
· Ensure timely renewal of all driver qualifications (CDL, medical card, etc)
· Monitor, counsel and document driver violations including out of service issues
· Accident management
· Ensure driver files are up to date and maintained in accordance with DOT regulation
· CSA Compliance
· Driver recruitment and retention
· Manage a Safety Assistant who will be assisting with record keeping and driver/equipment files
Qualifications:
· Strong computer skills
· Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
· Must have good people skills including the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of customers, drivers and co-workers
· Experience in a Safety Director role at a transportation company
· Comprehensive understanding of DOT/FMCSR rules and regulations
Full Time (we do not offer work-from-home options)
Monday – Friday (8am-5pm) – on call after hours for driver issues
