What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Pipefitter position at VIP Staffing?
Immediately hiring a commercial Pipefitter for a large mechanical construction company in San Antonio. Will be pipefitting on commercial projects and commercial scale projects.
Pay is $25 / hr. base with scale pay on scaled projects
Morning shift starts at 7am
Duties :
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications to install piping systems in commercial buildings.
- Install, assemble, and maintain piping systems for water, steam, gas, air, and other liquids and gases.
- Cut, thread, and bend pipe to specified measurements
- Lay out and fit pipe, offsets, bends and radiuses.
- Assemble and install hangers, pipe, and fittings using couplings, clamps, flanges, bolts, pro press, soldering, brazing and tack welding.
- Use cutting torch to cut and bevel steel pipe
- Piping systems include Chilled Water, Heating Water, Refrigeration, Condensate, Steam, and Condenser Water piping
- Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading
- Select pipe sizes and types and related materials, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications
- Welding as needed
