Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding steel bars into wire frames for concrete construction sites, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret production work orders and technical drawings to plan layout and procedures.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications.
- Align components using tape measures and clamps.
- Perform MIG welding on components.
- Inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify and rectify flaws.
- Lift and stack heavy components and completed parts.
- Maintain equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a welder.
- Proficiency in MIG welding techniques and equipment.
- Experience in a fast-paced, production-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Skilled in using electrical or manual tools (e.g., saws, squares, calipers).
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to take precise measurements with a tape measure within 1/16” accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Knowledge of safety standards and the use of protective equipment (e.g., face-shield, gloves).
- Attention to detail and a steady hand.
- Proficiency in conversational English is preferred.
- Completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is desired.
Requirements:
- Personal protective equipment, including gloves, welding hood, and steel-toed non-flammable boots (ankle coverage required).
- Availability for overtime as needed.
- 1-2 weeks of training upon hire.
