Job Purpose: To assist in the installation, maintenance, and replacement of automation systems at key points in the production process. Under the direction of the Senior Automation Technician, troubleshoot nonfunctioning components including servos, sensors, and control components.
Essential Functional Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of new automation technologies for manufacturing processes or to improve existing technologies.
- Assist in the Installation, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repair of industrial control systems, such as PLC’s or other computerized process control systems including those that monitor and regulate operations or machinery.
- Assist in the Installation and repair of electrical components such as motors, switches, relays or sensors.
- Help to maintain smooth operation of automated systems, assist manufacturing technical support technicians when needed to help guide troubleshooting of down equipment.
- Assist with preventative, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing production equipment.
- Assist in the Modification of automated PLCs, programs, and equipment to improve performance and meet new project needs.
QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 2 years related experience and/or educational experience.
- Adept in electrical, mechanical, and fluid power technologies and repair.
- Associates Degree in Automation Technologies, Industrial Mechanical Maintenance Technologies, or related field.
- A minimum of 6 months experience in a production environment as it relates to automation technology.
- Strong organizational and problem- solving skills.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and communication skills.
- Must have experience utilizing Microsoft Office for E-mail, Word, and Excel.
- Must be able to efficiently use Windows based computers and perform basic networking tasks.
- Must be able to read and understand electrical wiring diagram, ladder-logic, HMIs, industrial control systems, and PLCs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Rockwell RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, Logic designer, Studio 5000, and Factory Talk View Studio ME is a plus.
- Experience utilizing CMMS software such as SAP, EQUIPAC, etc.
