What you will do
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our cannabis retail operations. The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing store performance, driving sales, ensuring compliance with state cannabis regulations, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a passion for the cannabis industry. This position will report to the District Manager – Retail, Maryland.
Highlighted Responsibilities
- Manage cross functional team of retail operations, including sales, customer service, and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue and customer loyalty.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels and manage replenishment to ensure product availability.
- Monitor labor and material costs to maximize profitability.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders within the cannabis supply chain.
- Develop and maintain site quality metrics to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Utilize data analysis and reporting tools to assess performance and drive decision-making.
- Address HR concerns, foster a positive work environment, and ensure employee training on cannabis regulations and products.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing retail operations, preferably in the cannabis industry or other regulated markets.
- Strong knowledge of cannabis products, compliance, and customer trends.
- Ability to lead and communicate effectively with diverse teams.
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong quantitative mindset.
- Adaptability to a rapidly evolving regulatory and retail environment.
- At least two years of people management experience in a retail setting.
- Ability to prioritize tasks with minimal direction.
- Strong conflict management and resolution skills.
- Familiarity with cannabis retail compliance, including security protocols and product handling regulations.
- Ability to participate in physical tasks, including occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds).
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Operations, or a related field.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Flexibility to work weekends or evenings as required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
