Engineer II, COPV Design

Virgin Galactic is seeking an engineer with a strong background in composite overwrapped pressure vessels (COPVs), preferably with rocket motor and / or propellant tank experience. Ideally the person in this role will have a background in design, manufacturing, and testing. This role requires critical thinking in hardware integration and product lifecycles.

• Perform structural design and analysis of COPVs within program requirements
• Support liner manufacturing and filament winding activity
• Travel as needed to assist in vendor selection, and management
• Define, plan, and execute qualification and acceptance testing
• Support acceptance testing data reduction and post fire / flight inspections

The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $85,900.00–$131,050.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity. Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
