Internal Solution Architect

Function: Sales Support Closing Date: 29/05/2023 At Virgin Media O2 we have an enticing position to join us as an Internal Solutions Architect. This position is predominantly an office-based resource responsible for supporting Solution Architects in completing BAU (Business as Usual) design and costing work for standard configurable solutions following defined design guidelines. This may include change request, designing and proposing robust, supportable and fit for purpose solutions that fulfil these needs. The must haves In order to be considered, you must have the following experience; Experience in telecommunications solution design, wide area networking, local area networking, IP Telephony, and network security. Working knowledge of LAN and WIFI technologies Experience of working in a commercial environment, either within pre or post Sales engineering, or on a work placement (e.g., university gap). Understanding of engineering design and sales principles and practices Demonstrable capability and confidence in communicating with Customers. Good understanding of basic WAN design and switching & routing. Current UK driving licence. Strong demonstrable skills in: Customer Care; Time Management; Communications (oral & written); IT applications. Use of relevant in-house and Manufacturer tools and equipment Key responsibilities & accountabilities Taking ownership of any of the standard/configurable, repeatable opportunities as directed by the Solutions Desk Manager, responsible for engaging with suppliers and stakeholder to complete network audits and collating high-level cost base as part of a solution design. BAU solutions in scope can include Connectivity, LAN, WIFI, Voice & IP Telephony Solutions. Provide Technical Support for standard and configurable products, assisting Sales, SA and customers alike to ensure the solution is fit for purpose. Provide support for more senior Solution Architects, as directed by the Solutions Desk Manager, audit/serviceability/costing work and product/technology/competitor research. Develop and document the solution design, drawing on relevant resources from around the business where required, including any impact assessments and additional costs required to deliver the customer outcomes. Ensure internal governance procedures are followed and adhered to, including effective opportunity qualification prior to completing any design and costing work and stakeholder/partner approvals thereafter. Respond to support requests in line with agreed SLAs, where applicable, liaising with and managing stakeholders as appropriate to ensure that these are met. Develop and maintain a technical knowledge across the VMO2 Product Portfolio ensuring PDP is in place to capture training and development needs. Follow all applicable processes and ensure feedback is both provided and acted upon to enable continuous improvement of processes and designs. Investigate opportunities to automate/standardise processes to drive more efficient ways of working. What's in it for you?
