This someone is responsible to assist the 1st Electrical Engineer with repairs and maintenance of Electrical and Electronic equipment onboard. Essentially, we'll count on you to make sure our ship is lit! In other words, this someone needs to know how to Make Ship Happen. Ultimately, we won't be able to remember how we got by without you. What You'll be Up To: Responsible for maintenance and repair of Electrical equipment in the galleys, pantries, bars, elevators, public areas, corridors and Engine room as directed by 1st Electrical Engineer Maintenance and repair of Main and Crew laundry equipment Monitoring all interior and exterior lighting to ensure it remains operational. Ensuring the Cleanliness of Electrical Workshop Conducts the repair and maintenance of all light, sound and audio equipment such as PA system Conducts the repair and maintenance of all safety and security equipment onboard Conducts the repair and maintenance to any electrical fault within a passenger cabin Assists the 1st Electrical Engineer with the repair and maintenance of the mission critical systems such as propulsion system, power distribution and automation systems Prepare appraisals for all Electrical Ratings under their remit in accordance with Virgin Voyages policies Ensure that planned maintenance assigned to their discipline is conducted and reported. Attends passenger functions as instructed by the Head of Department Partake in inspections, trainings and meetings as instructed by the Head of Department. Other tasks pertaining to departmental operations as instructed by the Head of Department Ensures that the set standards are kept and staff members work according to their respective job descriptions Superpowers Required: Electro-Technical Officer Certificate of Competency (COC) Degree or HND in Electronic Communications or Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Certified and knowledge of Marine High Voltage Knowledge of MS Office and/or Computerised Maintenance System skills Minimum 1 year experience as 2nd Electrical Officer onboard a Passenger Ship.
