What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitten Nursery position at Virginia B Jontes Foundation?
SUMMARY: The Kitten Nursery Technician provides provide round the clock, life-saving care for the babies in our neonatal nursery.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a 3rd shift position (9pm - 5:30am)
- Follows established disease control protocols to clean, disinfect, and sanitize kennels, equipment, walkways, general areas, and other job-related item daily.
- Prepares and warms formula, bottle feeding, stimulating, tracking feeding and medical information.
- Cleans dishes and laundry of the nursery.
- Handle animals humanely sand safely using safety equipment if necessary.
- Be able to recognize signs of illness or behavior changes and update the appropriate team.
- Cultivates positive client, volunteer, and coworker relations through professional, courteous, and educational interactions.
- Provides our animal population with sufficient daily exercise and time outside of their kennels.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 6 months working/volunteering with domestic animals in an animal shelter, veterinary hospital, or another animal facility preferred. NOTE: Any applicable volunteer or work experience should be listed and include hours worked and job duties.
