What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator, Educational Foundation position at Virginia Beach City Public Schools?
Under the leadership of the Director, Office of Family and Community Engagement, the Coordinator, Educational Foundation position, will coordinate efforts of the Virginia Beach Public Schools Education Foundation (VBEF), including strategic planning, coordination and support of the Board of Directors committee functions, and fundraising development activities. The role involves serving as the primary liaison between the VBEF and Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS), ensuring seamless communication and collaboration to advance the foundation's mission and goals. A major focus for the coordinator will be to lead fund raising efforts, such as reaching out to private sector entities and other organizations to solicit funds or grants to support VBEF's yearly award of grants and scholarships.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have comprehensive knowledge of media, public, and community relations, as well as non-profit objectives and procedures. Must exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to work effectively with all internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to Board members, administrators, volunteers, and support staff. Must be competent in business metrics including financial reports, analysis, and evaluation. Must be proficient in initiating, monitoring, and evaluating programs. Must maintain effective working relationships with officials and staff. Must be able to manage pressure, emergencies, and interactions with high-level representatives efficiently and effectively.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required: Bachelor's Degree in business administration, education, social work, or a related field, grant writing and fundraising experience in related fields.
Preferred: Master's Degree in business asministration, social work, social sciences, fundraising, education, or related subjects. Nonprofit certifications include the Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) credential.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public using the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Frequent sitting, walking, bending, grasping, fingering, repetitive motion, and reaching. Occasional standing, stooping, crouching, and driving. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently. Requires timely and regular adherence to established work schedules.

Salary range: $86,577-$126,287
Salary will be based on job-related creditable years of full-time, verified work experience. Entry-level salary will be awarded at the time of hire. Upon the return of employment verification forms from the candidate's current and previous employers, the salary will be adjusted if creditable full-time experience is confirmed.

Unified Experience Based Step Pay Scale: U22
A key aspect of this role will be to promote team collaboration by encouraging open communication, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring that all team members are aligned with the foundation's goals. The coordinator will facilitate regular team meetings, promote a culture of mutual support and cooperation, work to resolve any conflicts that may arise, and ensure a cohesive and effective team dynamic. The coordinator will be responsible for tracking and analyzing key business metrics to measure the success of the foundation's initiatives, including monitoring fundraising performance, budget adherence, program effectiveness, and community engagement. By leveraging these metrics, the coordinator will make data-driven decisions to enhance the foundation's impact and ensure the efficient use of resources.
