What are the responsibilities and job description for the HMIS data associate position at Virginia Beach Community Development Corporation?
The HMIS Data Associate conducts data entry, data tracking and reporting, monthly/quarterly/annual reporting for client-specific, program-related, and grant-required information. The HMIS Data Associate is responsible for the primary input and accuracy verification of HMIS data. Additionally, this position is responsible for developing, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting data so that VBCDC can track client/program outcomes. The HMIS Data Associate is responsible for inputting all SSVF service transactions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Essential job functions)
- Input data into HMIS system to produce accurate reports of agency outcomes and demographics.
- Work with Case Managers to facilitate accurate and timely data reporting and record keeping.
- Provide quality assurance and adhere to oversight entities’ regulations regarding TFA funds, HMIS data collection, and client case files.
- Participate in HMIS Meetings
- Collaborate with community partners to establish and improve data tracking and reporting.
- Serve as front desk coverage as required
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Serve on Corporate Teams as requested.
- Serve as an engaged and involved team member supportive of the varied experiences and perspectives of internal and external colleagues.
- Support and actively builds the “Family Style” corporate culture and adheres to VBCDC values in oral and written communications, as well as behavior.

Minimum, Education Experience, Skills and Character Requirements
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills required.
- High School diploma and at least two years of related experience in gathering and manipulating data.
- Experience in human services and HMIS strongly preferred.
- Must be detail-oriented and highly organized; able to plan, prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Proven ability to meet performance goals on a consistent basis
- Ability to manage workload sufficiently to meet deadlines
- Ability to use HMIS/Apricot

Physical Demands/Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, see, or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. This employee must respond and answer on call emergencies from neighbors. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The employee must have a valid driver’s license, own an automobile which can be used for travel during the workday, and carry $300,000 of liability insurance. Employee must be available for regional travel up to 75% of the workweek.
