What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pipe Layer position at Virginia Carolina Paving?
PIPE LAYER
Lays clay, concrete, steel, C.I. or other type for water main, gas main, sanitary sewer, telephone and electrical conduits. Applies oakum or other join t sealing materials by hand or with caulking gun. Levels earth to fine grade specifications, using pick and shovel. May perform other related duties.
Exerting 50-100 pounds of force occasionally and 25-50 pounds of force frequently and 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Required to lift, carry, push and pull in standing, walking, sitting positions.
Agility, coordination and alertness are necessary for work is in vicinity of heavy equipment and traffic. Ability to follow instructions and adjust to flexible work schedule.
