Mission or Goal of Unit: To provide superior, compassionate and innovative
clinical care to our patients using state of the art knowledge and resources
and to conduct and disseminate clinical research and scholarship, with a focus
on the care of patients and education of future clinicians Chief Purpose of this position: This
position is a clinician faculty position, with interest in general
gastroenterology to function within the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Virginia Commonwealth University. Position Responsibilities: Clinical - Provide clinical services in the gastroenterology clinics at VCUHS, to include both clinics on the MCVH campus and in gastroenterology outreach locations; participate in the inpatient management of patients with GI conditions, participate in attending on the Digestive Health Service at VCUHS; perform diagnostic endoscopic procedures. Required Qualifications:
Teaching – Provide teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows in the management of patients with GI conditions.
Research- Triangulation of health disparities-opioid abuse-outcomes in the context of inflammatory bowel disease to develop strategies for community based implementation to improve access and treatment responsiveness.
