Position Responsibilities
We are
looking for a health behavior educator, specifically with some knowledge and
background in substance use, addictions, or tobacco control/smoking cessation.
Virginia
Commonwealth University (VCU) has a smoke and tobacco-free campus policy that
applies to all university property, including indoor and outdoor
spaces. The policy aims to reduce tobacco use and tobacco-related litter
and fire hazards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent applicable combination of training, education and experience
- >1 year required in behavioral health counseling, substance addictions, and/or behavior change
- [BB1]Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook, social media
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
Preferred Qualifications
- Tobacco Treatment Specialist trained or certified
- Able to work some hours on weekend or after 5pm for phone/telehealth counseling only.

continued employment is dependent upon project need, availability of funding,
and performance.
