Chief Purpose of this position: The Richard T.
Robertson School of Communication at Virginia Commonwealth Position Responsibilities: This new faculty
member will primarily teach undergraduate media production courses with a
special focus on teaching the recording and editing of commercial video and audio
content. An ability to teach innovative media production skills is strongly
preferred. Required Qualifications: Candidates must have:
(1) a master’s degree in mass communication or in a related field; (2)
professional experience in video/audio recording and editing of commercial
content; (3) a proven track record of inspiring, guiding and mentoring others
to reach their full potential; and (4) high expectations for students. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU. This
faculty member will teach four courses per regular semester (fall and spring). Preferred Qualifications: Successful college
teaching experience is highly preferred. Application Process
