Position Summary:
The Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology is in search of a Hourly Research Assistant to join Dr. McCandless's lab. Temporary support is needed for ongoing behavioral and histological endpoints in a preclinical study.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities include histological assessment of brain, microscopy, animal husbandry, behavioral assessments of preclinical subjects, data input and analysis, and routine laboratory maintenance activities
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with rodent behavior and brain histology
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a hourly employee at VCU
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with microscopy
