Led by Dr. Askar Chukmaitov, now with VCU’s School of Public Health, the program is funded by Kazakhstan’s Bolashak Center for International Programs. Scholars, including clinicians, policymakers, and researchers, gain expertise to support Kazakhstan’s health reforms. Scholars engage in up to 10 months of interdisciplinary, mentored training tailored to their interests, focusing on clinical disciplines, health policy, and research. Scholars complete training in a chosen concentration, participate in seminars and site visits, and develop a capstone project, research proposal, or academic manuscript. They are expected to submit a final report and share their expertise upon returning to Kazakhstan.Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Educational Coordinator to oversee the administrative and operational aspects of our healthcare exchange program. The ideal candidate will have experience in academic program coordination, strong organizational skills, and a passion for global health education. This role involves managing program logistics, facilitating participant engagement, and ensuring a seamless exchange experience for scholars and trainees.Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all aspects of the exchange program, including application processes, participant selection, and onboarding
- Serve as the primary liaison between partner institutions, program participants, and faculty
- Organize travel logistics, housing, and cultural integration activities for visiting scholars
- Develop and maintain program materials, including schedules, curricula, and evaluation tools
- Track program metrics and generate reports to assess program outcomes and areas for improvement
- Support faculty in coordinating educational workshops, lectures, and collaborative projects
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, visa requirements, and international regulations
- Knowledge of Richmond, VA and its healthcare and educational landscape
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic program coordination, international education, or healthcare administration
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Russian (or Kazakh) with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to translate from English into Russian
- Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Good interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to track and manage documents efficiently
- Flexible working hours as needed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Understanding of administrative and HR processes is a plus
- Prior experience in educational settings is a plus
- Must have a car and a valid driver’s license
