This position will join the Finance and Administration (F&A) team and play a critical role in the administration of donor restricted funds, scholarships, and supporting Dean’s Office units with financial processes. The School of Business Dean’s Office is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Financial Specialist. This position will join the Finance and Administration (F&A) team and play a critical role in the administration of donor restricted funds, scholarships, and supporting Dean’s Office units with financial processes. The F&A team believes in training and career growth and welcomes applicants who are interested in starting a career in the financial services area.
Typical Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Finance & Research Administration, this position will:
- Ensure exceptional financial management of local funds and support the achievement of donor intent through collaboration with the VCU School of Business Foundation and the school’s development team. Optimally will serve as a hub of knowledge for restricted funds.
- Function as the financial specialist for all scholarships and collaborate with the School’s Director of Admissions and other recruiting personnel, development, and financial aid. This responsibility includes becoming proficient in VCU’s scholarship hub system.
- Provide fiscal services for several Dean’s office units, including purchasing, travel/reimbursements, executing monthly reconciliations, and support leadership with budget planning when needed.
- Function as an enthusiastic, positive member of the F&A team, with a strong focus on customer service and meeting the needs of stakeholders. Develop effective working relationships with units internal and external to the School of Business.
- Engage in the ARMICS (internal control) process as part of the F&A team.
