Mission or Goal of Unit :
The mission of the Consultation-Liaison Divisionis to improve the mental health of individuals and families through clinicalcare, research, education and public awareness.
Chief Purpose of this position :
The Department of Psychiatry isseeking a neuropsychologist in its C / L Division. The neuropsychologist will provide assessmentsof, and psychological interventions as applicable. The neuropsychologistwill provide graduate and fellowship supervision and training.
Position Responsibilities :
1. Clinical- Conducting neuropsychological assessments andproviding therapy to a diverse adult patient population. Providing behavioral interventions, includingpsychoeducation and / or psychotherapeutic interventions for patients, familiesand / or caregivers; behavior management; and cognitive behavior therapies. Provides consultation to interdisciplinary treatment teams;collaboration related to patient's cognitive and behavioral strengths and weaknesses, including development and implementation of interdisciplinary intervention plans.
2. Teaching-Teaching and supervision responsibilities in thearea of Neuropsychology. Providingguidance and mentorship to post-doctoral psychology fellows, and opportunities toteach psychiatry residents, fellows, and medical students.
3. Scholarship- Scholarly activities, including programevaluation, research, publications, presentations at national meetings,conference presentations, and participation in appropriate academicorganizations.
4. Service - Serving on University, Health System, School ofMedicine, and Department of Psychiatry committees, etc. to enhance and promotethe service needs and policy making functions of the university, medicalcenter, department, and division.
Required Qualifications :
- PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, School Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, or Neuropsychology from an APA / CPA-accredited doctoral program and internship
- Postdoctoral training in Neuropsychology
- Licensed or license-eligible as a Psychologist in Virginia
- Experience, competence, and expertise with neuropsychological assessment, psychological and behavioral therapies, family education and support, and behavior management
- Experience with education of clinical and counseling doctoral students, interns, and fellows
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
