Position Summary :
A Post-Doctoral Fellow position is available in the Sensory Neurobiology and Pain Research Labin theDepartment of Physiology and Biophysics at Virginia Commonwealth University. Westudy the molecular mechanisms and neural circuits underlying sensoryneuroplasticity and visceral pain with an emphasis on glia-neuron andimmune-neuron interactions. We examine the contributory factors involved insensory neuron crosstalk, and visceral and somatic organs cross-sensitization. Weimplement state-of-the-art techniques including but not limit to neuronaltracing, cell culture, live cell imaging, and biochemical and behavioralapproaches and utilize unique transgenic mice. Competitive candidates shouldpossess a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree, and have curiosity, interests, andmotivation to strive in basic science research.
