The School of Medicine’s largest department, Internal Medicine (i.e. Department of Internal Medicine “DoIM”), is recruiting a Research Program Coordinator to provide research operational support for the department’s 11 Divisions. The DoIM oversees over $100 million in sponsored research across 224 active projects and currently has $117 million in sponsored proposals with a 29% average success rate.
The DoIM is seeking a mid-level candidate to serve as the intradepartmental resource to the 11 Divisions, liaison to the Office of Sponsored Projects, and the School of Medicine Research Administrative team. Reporting to the Clinical Research Operations Manager, the Research Program Coordinator for Internal Medicine will be responsible for the strategic management, planning, policy formation, and implementation of programs and/or services to ensure daily and long-term objectives are met. The incumbent will work in collaboration with departmental and divisional leadership to develop strategic operations, policies and procedures for the research operations.

Core Responsibilities
- Identify and disseminate information about funding opportunities and work with investigators to
- Serve as the key point of contact for the School of Medicine Research Administrative team in
- Partners with the Sr. Administrator and Clinical Research Operations Manager in the oversight of:

- Provide research administrative leadership for the department by establishing best practices including

- Collaborate with the Sponsored Programs Office (MTAs, DUAs, CDAs etc.), Principal Investigators, and

- Provide guidance to less experienced Divisionally-appointed staff and contributes to projects and
- Contribute to process improvements, development of standard operating procedures, and
- Perform other duties as assigned (i.e. Partnership with fiscal administrators, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 5 years of professional experience or equivalent combination of
- Extensive knowledge of financial, operations and administrative policies and procedures
- Exceptional decision-making skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to design, manage, and implement programs
- Experience serving as a leader by building, leading, motivating, and assessing teams
- Experience in holding employees accountable for individual results and drive overall effectiveness of
