Key Responsibilities
- Search Strategy Development
- Take a consultative approach with hiring teams to create tailored and effective recruitment strategies aligned with institutional goals and the unique needs of each position.
- Develop detailed search plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring clarity and alignment throughout the recruitment process.
- Partner with hiring managers and Human Resources Partners (HRPs) to craft high-quality job specifications and descriptions that attract top-tier talent and accurately reflect role requirements and institutional values.
- Candidate Sourcing and Engagement
- Perform market research and leverage professional networks to identify a diverse and highly qualified pool of candidates for leadership positions.
- Employ sophisticated recruitment methods, including passive recruiting, direct outreach, database mining, and professional networking, to identify and attract top-tier talent.
- Build strong relationships with diverse candidates through meaningful engagement, assessing their qualifications, interests, and alignment with the institution’s values and needs.
- Create and post compelling job advertisements across various platforms, including institutional websites, social media channels, relevant professional networks, and job boards, to maximize visibility and outreach.
- Manage the review and evaluation process for resumes, cover letters, and applications to ensure a rigorous and fair assessment of candidates.
- Oversee the phone screening process to identify and present the most qualified candidates, aligning with the institution’s strategic goals and leadership needs.

- Coordinate all stages of the search process, ensuring clear communication and timely execution among stakeholders.
- Organize and facilitate key search activities, including meetings, interviews, and campus visits, serving as the primary point of contact for participants.
- Develop and distribute feedback instruments to gather insights from interview stakeholders, supporting informed decision-making.

- Data Management and Reporting

Qualifications
Minimal Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, psychology, communications, or a related field.
- Experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, or related fields, as well as expertise in other human resources roles.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit and source diverse passive talent.
- Proven ability to develop comprehensive recruitment strategies, supported by a deep understanding of recruitment technologies and advanced sourcing tools.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, coupled with expertise in interview techniques and effective resume evaluation methodologies.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing multiple recruitment processes concurrently, with a strong understanding of DEI principles and their effective application in talent acquisition strategies.
- Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and a customer-focused mindset with exceptional time-management, attention-to-detail, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a high performing team.
- Excellent judgment and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive issues and information in an environment with high visibility.
- Technically savvy with experience with HR databases, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft office suite.
- Demonstrated experience fostering a diverse and inclusive environment and an expressed commitment to do so while at VCU.
- Experience with executive recruitment and/or executive search process.
- Advanced recruiting techniques experience and strong executive level facilitation skills.
